The Canby Center is excited to welcome our community to an open house next week to tour our facility, see the work that we do and learn more about our planned expansion and vision for the future.
This event is completely free and open to the public and will be held from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 7, at The Canby Center. We are located at 681 SW 2nd Avenue, next to Canby High School.
We know that the only way we will be successful in our ultimate mission to lift youth and families out of generational poverty is through the support and buy-in of our incredible community.
That's right: We need YOU! Your time and talents, your creativity and contributions. Your involvement and participation, whether that be through donating, volunteering or connecting with The Canby Center in other ways.
We hope you are able to join us for this opportunity to engage with The Canby Center, see how we use our current facility and the desperate need for more space to serve our community. Guests will be welcome to self-tour the center, talk with TCC staff and hear from TCC leadership about the campaign and our vision for the future.
Again, this is an open house, so please feel free to join us any time between 4 and 6:30 p.m. on February 7. To learn more or RSVP, please visit www.thecanbycenter.org/openhouse. Thank you!
Beat LA — Support TCC!
Speaking of our Canby community, we cannot say enough about the incredible support we receive from community partners like DirectLink.
The local cooperative telecommunications provider has made a very generous donation to our capital campaign: two tickets to see the Portland Trail Blazers beat — um, we mean, "play" — the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday, February 13!
The Lakers are always one of the hottest tickets at the Moda Center each year, but the stakes are even higher this time around as L.A.'s LeBron James is on the cusp of further cementing his status as one of the greatest to ever play the game by eclipsing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's all-time scoring record of 38,387 points.
These two fantastic seats, just 16 rows back from courtside, are valued at $750! We will be offering them as a silent auction prize at the February 7 open house (so, yet another great reason to stop by!) in support of our ongoing capital campaign. Thank you, DirectLink!
Thriving Together Campaign Update
We are a little over two weeks into the public phase of our $8 million Thriving Together Capital Campaign, which will enable us to greatly expand our building and services as we work to alleviate poverty in Canby and beyond, and we have been overwhelmed by the generous support and genuine excitement our community has shown.
We have heard from so many community members, friends, volunteers, and those whom we serve, as well as folks from neighboring communities and beyond, that they understand and fully support the vision for this much-needed expansion and what it will do for Canby.
We still have a long way to go to reach our goal of securing a future where The Canby Center is fully able to meet the needs of our growing community, but our hearts are full and encouraged by the way you have eagerly come alongside us.
We have many exciting developments and surprises to share in the coming weeks, as well as looks inside the important work being done at The Canby Center every day to help local families and youth move forward out of generational poverty, so stay tuned!
In the meantime, you can learn more about our planned expansion and how you can be a part of making it even better at www.thecanbycenter.org/building.
