Canby Area Job Seekers

Canby Area Job Seekers meets Monday’s from 7:00 to 8:30pm. Meetings are hosted at the Canby Center 681 sw 2nd Ave, Canby just behind McDonalds. So, what is a “job seeker group?” People who are looking for work, who are either unemployed, under-employed or wanting to make a career shift. These folks can be high school/college graduates, mom and dads who are entering the work force after being home with kids, individuals planning to make a career shift in the near future, and people who are looking for a place to network.

The group has a facebook page, and includes employers and potential employees. People are able to post what they are looking for in the line of work and employers are able to post jobs.

Canby Area Job Seekers weekly meetings include time for networking, an educational component on job seeking; topics will include: transferable skills, resume/cover letter writing, elevator speech, branding and social media, networking, using job search sites, informational interviews and interviews skills, follow-up and more topics as the needs arise.
